How Important is SEX to MARRIAGE?

Well, one answer was, "you gotta have something to do when you make up!" - While this is pretty funny, it might just be pretty right! This blog is intended to open up a serious dialogue about the subject. Many people stay in what may be characterized as bad marriages simply because of good sex.  The spouse may not be kind, honest or genuine but can make it happen in the bedroom.  What do you say?  Is it wrong to place such a high value on sex in the marriage?  Should people value other things more than sex? (This obviously excludes love and religious affiliation, because love and religious affiliation are generally prerequisites for marriage.  So, we are assuming here that the couple does love each other and neither are willing to trade sex for love.) I'm waiting to hear from you - who'll be the first?

I believe its a catch 22! yes! sex would normally be important in the marriage! (and a GREAT way to make up) and God did create sex for marriage; however because there are individuals who choose to "step out" and break the bed AND/OR disrespect the marraige with whatever infidelity they choose to pull out for the day, it makes the whole thing difficult. The hard part is the spouse may be able to "be the bomb" in the bedroom and they would use that to there advantage! If the couple does love each other then there should be other things that can help the make-up besides sex!

Thanks! This makes so much sense. When the bed is violated, what was meant to be a pleasureable experience can turn into a burdensome task. Let's keep it righteous in the bedroom!

WE DEFINITELY NEED TO!

i agree with the 1st comment! in marriage there are often the test of trials and sex shouldnt ALWAYS be or be deemed the ONLY way to "make-up". Thats when its time to pull out our thinking caps and find other ways to clean up what we messed up!

Thanks Serena! Where there's a will, there's a way.
